What to do.... What to do?
The scary movies you watch probably affect you more than you realize. When I'm afraid of the dark, it isn't the dark itself I'm afraid of. What can the color black do to me? It's the fact that I can't see what is coming. You could ask yourself, "What is it I'm really afraid of? Is it that someone broke into the house and could grab me?" Once you identify what it is you are actually afraid of, you can start rationalizing your fear away. If you think it is from someone coming in the house, just as an example, you could think to yourself that if they did, you'd hear it, or you'd be the last person they'd want, or they'd just be after the stuff, or "What really are the chances that someone this night decided to break into my house, especially since I don't even know anyone whose house has been broken into?", etc.
