Conure acting weird towards BF?

My BF and I got a 2 yr old Jenday Conure yesterday and she has warmed up really well to me. She already wants me to hold her and lets me stroke her and scratch behind her head. With him however she hardly wants anything to do with him. She will come out of her cage and look at him but when he sets his hand down she will bite him over and over. She is a biter because she is a rescue bird and was abused but she doesnt bite me nearly as much. I know it was a man that used to abuse her by hitting her with hats, gloves, ect... and locking her in her cage for 4 months and leaving. The neighbor found her and saved her life. Is there anything that he can do so she will learn to trust him more?
