I want to stop my daughter using a pacifier, can I do this?

My daughter is 2 years old and I was thinking of using "Nail biters Stop N Grow" nail oil on the pacifier to make it bitter to the taste when she uses it. Is this a good strategy? Is it dangerous to use the nail product in that way? Do you have any tried and successful strategies to stop children from using the pacifier? Thanks!
